The VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF) is a practical-based qualification intended for those leading a team of internal quality assurance staff and working as an internal verifier themselves. It replaces the V1 qualification for IVs.
It is a Level 4 award and has been developed for internal quality assurance staff. This qualification is accredited on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). This qualification is approved and supported by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), the sector-owned body for the learning and skills sector.
The qualification is a practical-based qualification intended for those who internally verifier the assessment process within their occupational competency area in the work environment, salon, workshop, classroom or other training environment
The course consists of three units:
- Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of Assessment
- Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility
- Internally assure the quality of assessment

Length: 3 – 6 months dependent on abilities, prior knowledge and skills
The full course cost covers all registration fees and costs to learner centre in 30 mile radius of Olive Training.
Training centres outside this radius should ask for additional quotes.
L4 Leading Internal Quality Assurance Cert VTCT (Ofqual)
This course is ideal for those wishing to internal verify the assessment proces and act as a lead IQA in a training environment. You should have been in the assessors role for a significant time and should have good specialist knowledge in the area that you wish to IQA. Please note ideally you must have access to assessors and learners however in some instances Olive Training may be able to support your studies by giving you assessment opportunites (t&cs may apply)
Throughout the course you will be assessed by a combination of short assignments, tests and practical observation assessments of your work; and will compile a portfolio of evidence.
You tutor will discuss any requirements prior to the start of the course.
To study this you should hold a Level 3 Certifcate in Assessing or Equivalent to ensure that you understand the process that you wish to internal verifiy. If you do not have this we can offer the Assessng certificate (terms and conditions and fees apply).
