The VTCT Level 2 Award in Mendhi Skin Decoration is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in; the design and application of Mendhi skin decoration. Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practice in a salon environment, and how to promote client care and communication in beauty related industries. You will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification.

This course is completed over 1 day with pre-study elements and is designed to teach you the practical application in the Mendhi Henn Skin Decoration.
You will be shown how to mix henna paste to use in the application of skin decoration, whilst understanding the health and safety aspects of the technique. You will also be taught how to prepare a template design and transfer this to hands, arms, feet and legs. You will also be shown how to use some simple design techniques to produce a beautiful freehand skin decoration. You will also be shown how to apply white henna and do a simple removable face design.
The course will cover traditional and more modern applications in order to achieve a skin stain lasting up to 10 days, which is ideal for parties and festivals.
You will work on a real client to gain the experience of application in a studio environment, using techniques to protect the design in the early stages of application.
There is also a health and safety theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit which will be studied both online and in the classroom, and you will be expected to complete 3 case studies in your own time prior to certification.
Requirements: You will need to attend a Salon Tunic and Trousers.

This course is ideal for anyone wishing to learn new skills for festivals and events but also great for qualified makeup artists who wish to add Henna skin decoration to their skills along side their traditional training. It is especially ideal for adults who wish to keep up to date with new trends in the industry.
Throughout the course you will be assessed by practical tasks on a model.
Whilst you are working here you will be using our resources. However you will need to purchase products to complete your case studies - this can be ordered for you prior to the start of the course and be here ready for your to work immediately after your course to complete your case studies.
