The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing is a substantial vocational qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed hairdresser/stylist.
This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a junior hairdresser/stylist including: health and safety; client consultation; shampoo and conditioning hair; the research unit - working in the hair industry; cut womens hair; colour and lighten hair and the art of dressing hair. These units are all mandatory. Learners will also develop their understanding and skills by working on models for all units and will learn the specialist skills of creating an image based on a theme; providing scalp massage services and perming hair.
The units include:
Client Consultation for Hair Services
Follow health and Safety practice in the salon
Working in the hair industry
Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
Cut women's hair
Colour and lighten hair
The art of dresssing hair
Create an image based on a theme - avant garde
Perm and neutalise hair
Provide scalp massage services
This course is completed over 18 intensive days at our Centre. The majority of that time will be spent gaining and learning practical techniques to carry out hairdressing working on real clients. In between these days you will cover case studies to improve your practise - these are discussed and reviewed in tutorials. You can expect your study period to last around two to four months.
There is also a theory content to ensure that you have the underpinning essential knowledge for each unit.

This Course is fully accredited by VTCT - Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation.
Requirements: You will need to attend a Salon Tunic and Trousers. A kit is also required for this course this will be discussed at the time of enrolment.

Home study is required to ensure that you meet the necessary criteria for the awarding body.
This qualification is approved and supported by the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA), the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications and is based on the hairdressing National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK's leading professional body (The Hairdressing Council) as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a junior hairdresser/stylist.
